| Head of the department is V.G.Koeshnikov.
The department of Human Anatomy was founded in the year of
1956. Prof. I.I.Chaikovskaya was the first head of the department
(1981-1996).
From 1984 the department of Human Anatomy has been headed
by a leading scientist and morphologists professor V.G.Koveshnikov.
He has created the native morphological school of osteologists.
Prof.V.G.Kovehnikov is an experienced and qualified teacher.
His lectures provoke a great interest in students. He prepared
and published more than 10 educational method guides on normal
anatomy. The results of his researches are published in more
than 350 printed editions including 10 monographs.
His main scientific direction is the study of influence of
human environment on morphogenesis of bone and endocrine system,
means of correction and prophylaxis of unfavorable aftermaths
of such influence.
For more than 18 years Prof. Koveshniko is the rector of
the Lugansk State Medical University. The department is equipped
with new premises with modern technological equipments of
educational process (study halls for preparations, museums,
freezing chambers, cadaver depository and scientific work
(morphometric, histological, electro microscopic laboratory,
vivarium).
At presently 2 professors, 6 lecturers, 2 assistants and
post-graduate students are working in the department. The
personnel of the department is working out 2 scientific research
works : "The peculiarities of the structure, growth and forming
of skeleton bones under the influences of some environmental
factors at different physiological states" and "standards
in Human Anatomy study and ways of their realization in educational
process".
For the last years the department of Human Anatomy has published
881 printed works.
